CHINA: Beijing Tianyin Cai Yun recently deployed a Harman sound reinforcement system for China’s Olympic Start Ceremony, which was held to wish the Chinese National Team success in the upcoming 2012 Summer Olympics. 

INDIA: Dutch loudspeaker manufacturer Alcons Audio has announced the opening of two new offices in Mumbai and Bangalore, both of which will reportedly offer full factory support. The two locations are intended as the spearhead of a wider launch into the country, with expansion planned into more cities in the near future.

CHINA: Beijing Genelec Audio Co Ltd (BGA), the wholly owned subsidiary of Finnish reference monitor specialist Genelec, has named Feng Hanying as its new national director with responsibility for sales, marketing and business development. The appointment came into effect on April 1st, 2012.

INDIA: Production mixer and sound designer Baylon Fonseca continues to utilise his inventory of Lectrosonics wireless equipment for his work in the Indian film production industry. Mr Fonseca recently won the National Award for ‘best production mix’ for his work on the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and ‘best sound design’ and ‘best sound mixing’ for his work on the Hindi thriller Game, and states that this success would not have been possible without the use of his Lectrosonics equipment.

CHINA: Sennheiser Asia supplied a variety of headphones and K-Array speakers for the recent Shanghai Midi Music Festival. Taking place at the Shanghai Century Park over two days, the Sennheiser-sponsored event saw over 18 bands take the stage to entertain thousands of music fans.
